Graham Smith performing one of my favorite old Kleenex Girl Wonder songs.
It kills me the beautiful inspired things people are capable of. These wonderful trick shots feel so meaningful and personal.
I watched this when Shaq twittered it last night, at which point it had 300 views. 12 ish hours later it’s up over 18k views. Deservedly so, I think. Sick.

Wow, this is close to home.
Frank Sinatra sings “It Never Entered My Mind”, perhaps the best Lorenz Hart lyrics ever on this one.
This is a beautiful video of a fifth grade class chorus covering the overlooked Regina Spektor song from the Prince Caspian movie.
It’s so moving to see the children emoting so much as they sing. Some of them seem to be faking it, imitating musicians they’ve seen on TV, but others are just closing their eyes, singing with what looks like an incredible amount of personal meaning.
This video makes me want to teach music to children so badly. I’ve done a lot of music teaching, visited a few schools to write songs with the children, but I have no degree in music. As a self-taught musician, I will probably never be able to get a full-time teaching job.
I love this decoration idea.

In “Taboo”, Gene Summers unravels the ancient mystery of why women are so evil and so good at deceiving and destroying men. Summers theorizes that women are often evil because they are possessed by the vengeful spirit of a beautiful red-haired woman who was wronged by a lover years ago. Yeah, I guess that would explain it.
Here are some beautiful illustrations by Stephanie Buscema, the one who will be illustrating my picture book (which will come out in summer 2011).
And I should note that many children’s books are now illustrated entirely on computer and I’m very excited that the publishing house hired an illustrator who still paints by hand!
Though I’ve not met Stephanie, I feel a special kinship with her because she is one of the only people I know of besides myself who is obsessed with both horror/noir movies and children’s books. There aren’t many of us!
